How Can swollen And Painful Ankle Be Treated?

My daughter hurt her ankle at tumbling, but after initial pain, she was fine. She got up walked around and was back to normal. We made her sit the rest of the day with ice, becaise it was swollen, but she said it did not hurt. She has been normal all week, but after a week we noticed it is still swollen. She has no pain and has been active as usual. Should we be concerned?

Hi
Thank you for asking HCM.
I have gone through your query. Your problem can be due to ligament injury. But better to have a X ray of ankle joint in two projections to rule out any possibility of fracture. If that is clear then it can be most likely ligament injury. In such case you can apply an elastic crepe bandage. Also raise leg while sitting.
Hope this may help you. Let me know if anything not clear.
Thanks
